I started work on my food-plot today, OMG is it hot or what? It was still pushing 100 @ 6 this evening. I'm mainly working on getting the grass killed out right now. I don't want to make the mistake this year and get it disced up to early and have the ground be to dry when planting time gets here.

I normally plant over the Labor Day weekend but we've had so much rain the last couple of weeks and they're calling for more this weekend so I got seed in the ground Monday (8/25)
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Got seed in the ground before Gustav or however ya spell arrived. On the 7Th I had winter peas running 4-6" tall and a bunch still trying the sprout. The wheat and oats where coming on strong as well as the berseem clover. My chicory is a bit slow but I could just make a little hint of green try to come through the dirt. Did I mention the cows got in it.........AGAIN, and proceeded to mow down my clover AGAIN!!!!
